Feeders / Tray Feeder
Presents a JEDEC matrix tray of fine-pitch or large ICs.
Also known as: matrix tray feeder, JEDEC tray feeder
A tray feeder (or tray station) holds one or more JEDEC matrix trays and indexes the machine to each pocket in turn. It's used for fine-pitch and large ICs — QFP, QFN, BGA — that ship in trays to protect their leads or balls.
On the machine
Holds fewer parts than a reel but protects delicate packages; often a manual tray slot on smaller machines.
