Carriers / Ammo Pack (Fan-fold)
Carrier tape fan-folded into a box instead of wound on a reel.

| Also known as | fan-fold, fanfold box |
An ammo pack holds the same EIA-481 carrier tape fan-folded into a cardboard box rather than wound on a reel. It is common for high-volume, long production runs because a box holds more tape than a reel and cuts feeder changeovers.

Feeds like tape & reel — the tape is drawn from the box into a standard tape feeder.
Orientation & placement rotation
EIA-481 fixes how each component sits in the tape pocket, so the machine always picks it at that angle. That orientation rarely matches the footprint's 0° in your CAD tool — the difference is the rotation offset a job needs before it will place correctly. The converter applies that correction →
