Stencils / Framed Stencil
Foil tensioned in a permanent aluminum frame for production printing.
A framed stencil has its etched or laser-cut foil permanently mounted and tensioned in an aluminum frame. It's the standard for a stencil printer in production: rigid, repeatable and fast to set up, but bulkier and more expensive than a bare foil. Typical foil thickness is 0.10–0.15 mm depending on the finest pitch on the board.
When to use it
Best when you'll run the same board repeatedly on a proper stencil printer.
